TECH PLANTER in the Philippines received great applications from 44 teams. It was a tough and grueling selection process and twelve teams have been selected as the finalists.
All finalists will be presenting their technology and business ideas at TECH PLAN DEMO DAY in the Philippines 2019 at QBO Innovation Hub, Makati, the Philippines on 18th May 2019.
The grand winner will receive JPY300,000 and sponsored travel to participate in TECH PLAN DEMO DAY Asia Pacific Round in Singapore in August 2019.
Finalists of this year
Team name: AI Assisted Online Grading Platform
Theme: Improving faculty productivity and giving value to parents. Assisting teachers to create reports with AI-assisted student assessment tool. Provide ease of mind for parents: get notified real-time with a mobile app. Update parents of upcoming events and school announcement.
Team name: BIOTECH Colorant Team
Theme: This team envisions the Philippines to be a self-sufficient producer of natural safe colorants. Colorant technology was developed using a local strain of Monascus, a GRAS microorganism.
Team name: DWARM Technologies
Theme: A combination of Artificial Intelligence, LoRaWAN, and Swarm Technology in drone technology.
Team name: FusionTech
Theme: To enhance and improve learning of the future by using the augmented reality application. To improve knowledge of kindergarten students and mesmerizing the learning capabilities.
Team name: GMO
Theme: To create a non-invasive blood glucose level measuring device consisting of various microcontrollers and sensors utilizing the concept of digital signal processing, and machine learning models for regression.
Team name: KomeTech
Theme: InfraDry is the first and only rice mechanical dryer in the Philippines.
Team name: nanolabLRC
Theme: Producing eco-friendly and economical nanomaterials electrode for electrochemical energy storage applications.
Team name: PRL-UPD1
Theme: Plastic sachet pollution is a global problem with widespread economic, environmental, and social impacts, due to the lack of proper disposal methods and the absence of technology and infrastructure that incentivizes plastic recycling and collection. To address the problems of industrial corrosion and plastic pollution by developing a corrosion-inhibiting product derived from plastic sachets.
Team name: PRL-UPD2
Theme: Microbial decomposition of rubber leads both to foul odor, which can pose a hazard to the workers, and to the degradation of the rubber, leading to product wastage and loss of profit. This team using an antimicrobial agent whose components can be sourced locally and prevents decomposition.
Team name: Quixens
Theme: To provide a rapid, cost-efficient, convenient, and portable solution for detecting microbial contaminants in matrices such as food and water.
Team name: Sigurisda
Theme: Using fish freshness detector to determine the freshness of fish. Envision to be the pioneer in developing technology for food quality in the Philippines.
Team name: Veer Immersive Technologies
Theme: To provide better quality training and education in aviation using VR/AR technology.
